Poor Bailey! On Monday something became wrong with her system and she began to have problems going potty. (loose stools, I know gross topic) We had her regularly scheduled vet visit on monday afternoon so we brought in a stool sample to have them test to see why she was having a problem. Well, supposedly the test came back fine.
Tuesday she still was having problems (needless to say she was up every hour at night having to go) so I called th vet to see if there was anything to give her as she was not eating. They recommended boiled hamburger and rice. Well she LOVES that. This at least got something back in her stomach too.
Wednesday she was still having issues so I called the vet again...they said to bring in a stool sample and I told them we already had one tested and it came back fine. The nurse on the phone checked Bailey's records and said that they did not do any bacterial tests on the stool, just a worm test. So the doctor we had on Monday tested for the wrong thing.
Thursday morning we brought in a new stool sample and yes indeed Bailey has a bacterial problem in her intestine. It was over producing the good bacteria to breakdown food and causing her stools to be loose. So now we have her on a medication for 2 weeks to take care of the problem.
She seems to be getting back to normal today... or at least her temperment is back to normal. Now its just a matter of getting her to eat those darn pills!
