Bellyrama

This morning I went to a yoga class at the Lake Harriet Bandshell, which was put on by my favorite yoga studio called Blooma. Blooma is a pre & post natal yoga studio in the Twin Cities. I attended many classes while I was pregnant and then a few with Brad since he has been born.
This weekend they put on this special event they called Bellyrama at the Bandshell which was FREE for all to attend. It was a beautiful morning by the lake and an even better class. Love it!

Weekend with the Grundahls

This weekend we drove down to Sun Prairie to visit Holly, Jason, and Maddox. It was sooo nice to finally see them again as the last time we got together was December 2009 and as you can imagine both of the boys have grown A LOT since then!
The weekend started out a little nerve wracking as we drove through some torrential rain, but we made it there safe & sound. I think at one point Jon said don't worry it can't rain any harder than this...but like 10 min later he stood corrected. The nice part was Holly had some welcome beverages waiting for us when we walked in the door, which really hit the spot.

We spent some time at the ball park over the weekend and were also able to celebrate Jason's parents 40th anniversary at a party hosted by Jason's brother & wife. It is funny that the only pictures I took the whole weekend were of the little boys. Brad and Maddox are about 5 months apart, so Maddox is fully walking/running around while Brad is still in the crawling stage, but they did play together well. I can only imagine the older they get the less noticeable the age difference will be.

Weber Family Getaway

This week we did our 2nd annual Weber family getaway. Wait, I am sure Mark would like me to re-clarify that... the Weber/Gilmore family getaway. :)
Again this year we attempted to find a place that was somewhere in between Minneapolis and Kansas City, so that basically means somewhere in Iowa. This year we ventured to Lake Okoboji, Iowa area and I have to send BIG Props out to my father in law Joel for finding a resort that was in a great location and fit us all!!! We stayed in this 4 bedroom 3 bath house off the water in the Arnold's Park area. For those of you that are not familiar with this area, Arnold's Park is a cute tourist area which has a beach, shopping, food, music, historical sites, caches, and an amusement park... all of which were within short walking distance of where we stayed. It was great and worked out super well with the not so standard schedules of the 3 little ones that accompanied us.

It was also soooo great to see Mark, Melissa, Emma, and Adrian, since the last time we saw them was at Easter for Adrian's baptism. It was a great 4 days hanging out with the family!

Brad loved hanging out and playing with his cousins....
He also learned how to go from his belly and push back to seated again as well as pulling himself up to standing along the couch. When we saw him do this we all cheered and clapped, which scared him and he started to cry since we were all looking at him. It was sooo cute.

We spent a lot of time at the beach....

And Saturday night we spent some time at the amusement park...

Mom & Baby Get Together

This weekend I also got together with my Mom & Baby group. Brad and I have missed the last 2 get togethers, so it has been like 3 months since we have last seen all his little friends. It’s crazy to see how much they have all grown and now they are all on the move!!! None of the babies are walking yet, most are crawling around and a few are standing and holding onto furniture.Brad & Hayley are definitely the most talkative of the bunch… the two of them were so cute standing at the activity table doing baby screams at each other. We also tried to get a group photo like normal, but it was definitely hard to get them to stay in one spot, let alone be happy. Rosalie did not want anything to do with sitting for the picture, but since she was crying it made Brad & Mason start to cry as well.

Wing Competition

Tonight we hosted a Wing contest at our house between our friends. Each individual was to bring their own wings, whether marinated, basted, sauced, basically whatever they wanted. Then we each took turns cooking, presenting, and taste testing each other’s wings. We would secretly give each person’s wings a 1-5 rating as well as any additional comments, which were then shared and tallied at the end of the night to figure out who was the winner of the Wing Cook-off.I am happy to say I came in 3rd place and Jon came in 4th place out of 8 different style wings. I used my friend Kirsten’s mom’s own wing marinade to prepare my wings. Then instead of cooking on the grill (like everyone else was doing and since chicken can burn so easily on a grill), I baked the wings in the marinade for about 45 min and then broiled them in the oven, while basting with some additional sauce. In my opinion, my wings turned out the best since there were no grill remainates and they were super juicy & flavorful. Kirsten’s mom owns Bonnie’s Country Classic as seen in the photo below.
In addition to our wing loving friends there was also many 4 legged friends enjoying the evening as well. I tried to get a picture of all the dogs, but there was just too much action going on to get them all….
Bailey, Scout, Izzy, Primo, and Nattie

Our 4 legged house guest

Guess who came over to stay with us for a few days???
Yup, its Nattie. Know what this means??

Her mom and dad are at the hospital welcoming her new little brother....
Mr. Callen Christopher Barker
was born on Saturday August 7th around 5:00pm. He is 7 pounds 14 oz and 21.75 inches long.
Jon, Brad, and I went to the hospital to visit the new Barker family and Mr. Bradley was sure excited to meet his new friend!
