6 Week Check up

Today I had my 6 week follow up with Dr. Cowling to make sure everything was healing okay. I have been feeling fine, so I definitely was not worried. She said that the episiotomy healed good, maybe too good. I guess sometimes if things heal too well there is some extra skin that can grow on the inside (similar to a skin tag). Anyway, she advised that I get this "skin tag" removed otherwise it can cause unnecessary pain when Jon and I enjoy extra-curricular activities. Removal involved cauterizing where this tag attached to the other skin. This definitely was not a comfortable procedure, but manageable.

After having a baby and then all of these kidney stone issues....I am sooooo ready for that area to be off limits to everyone else besides my hubby. :)

We brought Bradley with us to the appointment and Dr. Cowling and all her nurses were so excited to see him. They loved how alert he was and he was even talking for them a little bit. Here is Bradley and Dr. Cowling....the Dr. who delivered him.

Welcome Adrian Ruth!

Congratulations to my brother & sister in law, Mark & Melissa, and our niece, Emma who welcomed a new member to their family today.

Emma was sure excited to hold her sister. We can't wait to meet the new addition.

Christmas in Appleton

This year we went to Appleton for Christmas and were able to spend a long weekend celebrating the holiday from Wednesday through Monday.

On Wednesday Jason, Holly, Maddox, and Colleen came over to spend some time with us and so Colleen could meet Bradley. I got this cute picture of the Grandma's and their Grandson's.

Thursday was Christmas eve and was celebrated with the extended family on my mom's side. My parents hosted this year, so it was nice that we did not have to go anywhere. The evening was spent having dinner, doing pictures, opening presents, and then playing games.

Friday was Christmas Day and we were all definitely spoiled. Bailey's favorite part of Christmas is the wrapping paper. She chases and rips apart every wad we throw for her. Silly dog can sure make a mess.

Saturday we celebrated Christmas with my dad's side of the family, which my parents also hosted.

And Sunday we spent relaxing....

Overall it was really nice to be able to spend this extended time in Appleton with our little man.

Extended Family Christmas

This weekend we had the extended family Christmas with Jon's mom's side of the family. This year June hosted down in Owatonna, MN and our theme was Italian. It was a nice day of hanging out with the family, enjoying some wonderful food, and exchanging some slightly used gifts. :)

One awesome picture from the day was the 5 generation photo we were able to take with Bradley, Jon, Nanna Betty, Great Grandma Ileen, and Great Great Grandma Voss. Pretty cool!

Oh Christmas Tree

This year we had 2 Christmas Trees in our house again:

The first one was our artificial tree with the white lights and red/silver/gold ornaments located in the basement... The other one was a real tree with the colored lights and all of our Hallmark ornaments located upstairs in the front window of our living room....

Oh how I love the look and glow of a Christmas tree!!!

Bailey's new muttluks

Bailey received one of her Christmas presents early this year. A pair of doggie booties called Muttluks!

She was not too sure what to think of them at first, but once they were on, we got her excited for her walk, and headed outside, she totally forgot she had something on her feet. They work quite well, as sometimes with the snow her paws get cold quickly and/or when taking her for a walk she gets salt in her pads, which can irritate them.

What a good dog we have.

Holiday Party

Tonight Bradley went to his first Holiday party with us at James' and Quinn's house. He even wore his own holiday outfit. Although it may look like he was sharing daddy's bottle, he did get his own. :)

Meeting Griffin

Today I got together with Heidi and Griffin for coffee, coffee cake, and mom talk. Heidi is the wife of one of my co-workers, Derek. They had little Griffin in the end of September, so Heidi too was still on maternity leave. Griffin is about 6 weeks older than Bradley.

This weekend Holly, Jason, and Maddox came up to the cities to visit us and meet Bradley. At first we were unsure if they would make the trek from Madison because Maddox was a little under the weather, but his fever broke before they left and he was doing much better. No worries of passing any germs from one baby to the next.

It was so great to have them around for the weekend. We really did not do anything spectacular over the weekend, just a lot of hanging out. Also, I can't thank Holly enough for borrowing me her breast pump, storage bottles, and transition bottles.

Since I will be going in to the hospital for my kidney stone prcedure next week, we need to make sure our little man will be able to take a bottle, since I might miss a feeding while in surgery or recovery. The transition bottles look and feel very similar to a boob, therefore it is easier for the baby to take. So we tried it out over the weekend and Bradley took his first bottle like a champ. If anything, he drank it a little too quick and thought he was still hungry. :)

1 Month Old

Wow, its been 1 month already since our little Weblet came into our lives. He is already changing and growing, which is definitely good, but there is that piece of me that loves him being just a little peanut.

Yesterday I brought him into the pediatrician to get a weight check and to chat with the dr. a bit... he now weighs 8lbs 2oz.. His next real check up will not be until 2 months old, but I know that appointment he will not be a fan of since he will need to get his first set of shots. Yikes.

My plan is to take a picture of our little Weblet every month to see how he changes & grows. Here is Bradley at 1 month:

A Weekend of Visitors...

This weekend we had a lot of friends stop over to visit Bradley... Tina & Justin, Amanda & Jerad, Ryan, Jessica, & Quinn, and Patrick, Kate, Conner, Jeffrey, & Jena.

Since we have not been making it out of the house very much lately, we definitely appreciate and enjoy having company coming over to visit.

Also, congratulations to Tina and Justin who told us that they are expecting in June 2010.

Daddy Time

Dang Kidney Stones

This morning I did not have a very nice wake up call....pain in my back on the left side that radiated around to the front. About 6:30am I woke up with the pain being pretty intense...I thought it might go away, but nope that did not happen. It reminded me of the pain I had back in August with my kidney stones, but it was on the left side this time versus the right side.

By the time I called the nurse line it was after 8:00 and she recommended that we head to the ER to get it checked out. Once in the ER they were able to get me some pain medication pretty quickly and I was in some intense pain. Thank goodness for that pain medication...once that kicked in I felt much better.

Since I am no longer pregnant, they were able to check what was going on by doing a CT scan. Per the CT scan I had one kidney stone on the left that was already passing in the ureter...but also I have another stone in the left kidney, a cluster of stones in the right kidney, and a rather large stone in the right side that measures about 9mm. Oh Boy!

They sent me home with pain medication and with time I would pass that stone on my own.

For the rest of the stones, I had a appointment with the urologist on Friday and his recommendation is to have an out patient surgery to blast that large stone and to have a stint put in to assist with passing the pieces. That should be scheduled soon...

Walk on a Nice Day

Although it is now December, the weather outside is still decent. So decent that we were able to go for a walk today. I did want to bundle Bradley up to make sure he stayed warm enough. We received a winter coat from my aunt, which at the moment is still big on him, but we made it work. At least we were able to get outside to enjoy the fresh air. :)
