Camping

This weekend we had planned to go camping with my mom & dad around the Eau Claire area, but did not end up meeting them until Saturday morning. On Friday morning Mr. Brad seemed to have a little tummy ache (he seemed to wince at the touch), but did not have a fever and seemed fine other than that so we sent him onto daycare. Around 10:00 I got a call that he still was acting funny about his stomach, not wanting to be picked up, but now had a fever of 101. So we brought him to the doctor that afternoon to see what was up… we spent 4.5 hours there getting O2 counts, Xrays, blood tests, urine tests, temps… and turns out that he had the beginning stages of pneumonia and a bacterial infection. The poor little guy was just wiped out. At one point his temp was up to 103.8. So we stayed home with him to make sure he got some good rest and let the antibiotics kick in and do some magic.
The next morning he woke up more to his normal self, so we figured we would try the camping thing for one night to see how it would go. Besides being a little more tired than normal he did great. He did not sleep so well going into the night, but we think it was because it started to get cooler that evening, so we ended up having him sleep between us in the camper so that he could keep warm. He was so happy and excited Sunday morning to wake up sleeping between mom & dad… it was really cute.

Team Outing

This week our team took some time away from the office for a summer outing on Lake Minnetonka. Wes has a friend who lives just off the lake that had a pontoon boat we were able to use for the afternoon, which worked out perfectly for the amount of people we had. It was an awesome afternoon to cruise around the lake, not too hot but plenty of sun. There were a few times we had to stop to remove the weeds that had accumulated on the motor, which Brian took care of.
We all had to chuckle at one point when we had a little run in with a buoy heading into a channel area. We were all talking figuring the driver was well aware of his surroundings… until we got closer and closer to which he must not have heard Ria saying “Buoy ahead… turn left… Buoy… WES BUOY!” as we bumped off of the side. No damage or anything since we were going pretty slow, but goes to show you should not be checking out your blackberry while on the water. J

Grocery Store

Today was Brad's first Big Boy Trip to the Grocery store. He was definitely not a fan of the pineapple I sat next to him in the cart. It gave him the heebie geebies when he touched it. :)

Dinner with cousins

Today it was such a nice day outside that Jon and I spent the day in the back yard giving our vehicles a good washing. One because they both needed it and two because we have decided to finally sell our Jeep. It just does not get used on a regular basis since Jon has his work car and I have my car. Also, the Jeep does not fit Brad's car seat very well, so if he is coming along with us anywhere we have to take one of the other vehicles. Looks pretty good all clean & shiny.
(The Jeep has since been sold)

While we were in the midst of our cleaning, I got a call from my cousin Kyle who was in town for a Triathalon that his buddy was in on Sunday morning. He was staying in St. Paul for the night with his cousin Jason from the other side of the family. So Jon, Brad, and I met Kyle, his buddies, and Jason for dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory.

After dinner they give you a small bowl of ice cream, so it was Mr. Bradley's first time having ice cream. He did not know what to think at first but then he LOVED it. See he is just like his mama.

Our weekly renter

This summer Megan has an internship with the FDIC where she travels around the state and audits in various banks. Earlier this summer she was working up in this area and stayed at our house for the week versus staying at a hotel. This week she was up in the metro again, so again she stayed with us for the week.

It is definitely fun to have her around as it is another person to chat and hang out with. Monday night Megan came with me to play volleyball with some people from church, Tuesday we laid low, Wednesday we went out rollerblading and tried to find a few caches, and the Thursday night we played Just Dance. Here are some of our awesome dance moves:

Rent's visit

My parents came for a visit this weekend, but I failed to take very many pictures. One picture I did take was of Brad and Blanca. She has been the one taking care of him in the infant room at daycare. Today was her last day and we wanted to stop by to say goodbye and let her know how much we appreciated her.
There were a few more pictures I took of my little cheese ball. Lately he likes to do this cheesy smile to show off his 6 little teeth.Saturday night we did take my parents to a Twins game at Target field. We had planned to head down an hour or so prior to the game to walk around and check out more of the field. However, it was a good thing we went early because we thought the game started at 7:10, but in reality it started at 6:10 so we ended up getting there only 20 min prior to game time. The Twins won, in one of the quickest major league games. The total game time was less than 2 hours. It was a good thing that the game was that quick because a strong storm was rolling in and by the time we made it to the car it was pouring and really windy.

Dave Stock

This weekend we attended the 4th annual DaveStock festival in Waseca. Davestock started as a neighborhood and family event at James' uncle Dave's house. Their family is very musically talented so they decided to play music at the neighborhood get together and it ended up turning into an annual event called DaveStock. This was the first year Jon and I were able to attend and we had a GREAT time!

Lots of our friends and friends parents were in attendance. Although we hit up Jon's parents to watch Brad for the evening, we did bring Brad along for awhile (until it was his bed time) so that Betty and Joel could partake in the fun as well. Here are some fun pictures from the night.....

Chicks n' kittens

While we were down in Wascea, Betty and I took Brad over to Aunt Valerie's house so Brad could see some baby kittens and chicks. Valerie has this awesome old school red Radio Flyer wagon that we pulled him around in. He loved it! He was not too sure about the cats and really did not pay too much attention to it besides trying to grab it rather aggressively once. We still need to work on his gentle touch.
Same thing with the baby chicks, he watched them in his lap, but really did not want to touch them. The funny thing about the baby chicks is they must have gave him the heebie geebies or something, maybe it was the way the feather's tickled his legs, but he kept doing that little body shudder. It was cute.

Then when we got back to the house, Jon took Brad for a ride on the mower. We made sure to put some ear protection on Brad. Isn't he cute!

Stella's Beer Tasting

Tonight I had a night out with the girls enjoying a Beer Pairing Dinner put on by New Belgium Brewery. IT WAS AWESOME!!!
Each of the beers was paired with a course of the meal....and our meal was 6 courses!
Oysters, soup, scallops, steak, salmon, and cobbler were paired with one of the below.
Yes you may say... there is still some beer in all these glasses, but it was probablly a good thing that I did not finish every single one. Some beers I liked better than the others, especially the light versus the dark ones. However, it was especially amazing to see how a certain food can pull out the flavor within a beer or vice versa.
Cheers to the beginning of a fun night! My first time eating Oysters.... hmmm, not a big fan.
