Halloween Party

Last night Ryan and Eric had a Halloween party at the house in South Minneapolis. I went as a vampire (although my fangs would not stay on) and Jon was the tooth fairy. There was a lot of people there in a wide variety of costumes...some of the different costumes were a rock star, Dwight & Angela (from the office), the ambiguously gay duo, the slowsky's (turtles from the comcast commercials), Brad Childress, Salt N' Pepper shakers, Dodge Ball players, a deviled egg, an umpa lumpa, and Pee Wee Herman.

Carving Pumpkins

On Friday night Kate & Patrick came over to carve pumpkins. Jon picked out the pumpkins when we were at the grocery store earlier in the evening and picked 2 of the largest pumpkins he could find. In his opinion it has more carving surface, but he also likes to use the whole surface as well. I had the great idea to put our last name on my pumpkin, however it took me 2 hours to carve. At least it looks cool. P.S. I also ran out of room to put the "s" at the end, but oh well.

This was Bailey's first experience with pumpkins, but she just wanted to eat the stems and the stuff that came out of the inside of the pumpkin. We did get her to sit nicely once they were all done.

Bed Time

Again here is another example of our dog claiming her territory on our bed. The funny thing is that she sleeps on there all day, but at night when we are both in bed she would rather sleep on the floor.

However, if Jon goes to bed before I do Bailey will accompany him and take over my side of the bed. Then it gets difficult to move her over. Don't they look so peaceful.

Fall Colors

This past week the sun finally came back to the Twin Cities and wow it made all the fall colors look that much more vibrant. However, peak color in our area was probably 2 weeks ago when it rained everyday.

Here is a picture out my window at work of the colors around part of the lake and within Hyland Park. You can see that some of the trees have already dropped all of their leaves.

Puppy Sitting

A few weekends ago we watched Matt's puppy Niko on Saturday afternoon while he got in one last weekend golfing. Bailey and Niko spent the whole afternoon running around and playing.

Being more of a puppy than Bailey is, I think Niko needed a break from her at one point because he was trying to find a spot where Bailey could not reach him.... the only problem was he could not get back out on his own.

Niko found his spot between the sliding door and the screen... I was laughing so hard I had to take a picture. Here are a few more cute pics from the afternoon.

Delay in update

Bailey has decided that the bed in the guest room is now her bed to sleep on.

New Puppy

Today Amanda and I went to cheer our friend Kristin on while she ran the Twin Cities Marathon. We looked online to see how far she was and then went up to mile 16 to give her support. Go Kristin...I think its awesome for someone to run that far. I don't think I could ever do that.

So while we were down at the race, I got a call from my good friend Matt telling me he bought a puppy. So Amanda and I stopped by his house on the way back from cheering on Kristin.

Matt got an 8 week old male Siberian Huskie, which he named Niko. What a cute little guy he is. Amanda and I had Bailey and Nattie with us so our dogs got to meet Niko today too. Niko was not too sure of the big dogs, but soon he will be just as big as them and I am sure they will all be good friends.

Downtown Night

Last night we decided to head out downtown, which is something we have not done in a long time. Jerad and Amanda joined Jon and I so the 4 of us took the light rail downtown so we would not have to worry about parking. When we were heading down on the light rail we checked the schedule to see what time we needed to pick up the LR again to head back home as the last run is prior to bar time. According to the sign where we parked the last ride came back at 1:48.

So we headed down and had a great time hopping around to a few different bars and also met up with some of Jon's friends as well.

At 1:40 we headed back toward the LR to head home however the sign at that stop said the last run was at 1:19!!! Whoops, 1:48 was the time the LR arrived back at where our car was. So we ended up having to take a cab back home. So our great idea on saving on parking downtown turned into a $25 cab ride plus the round trip LR tickets we initially paid for. We will probably never make that mistake again. He He He.

When we were at Ike's bar Jerad decided to order a piece of chocolate cake for dessert and when the waiter was over we had told him it was both my and Amanda's birthday (hers is on the 13). We were asking if they had any birthday specials, he said no not unless it is the day of your birthday. Well we must have charmed him over because he brought over the cake with a candle in for us and gave it to us for free and then also gave us 4 fresh bake chocolate chip cookies, which is the birthday special.

Happy Birthday to me

Tuesday October 2nd was my birthday so I invited some friends to join me for a happy hour at Via Restaurant in Edina. I was glad to see a bunch of my friends that I used to work with as it was the first time we have really gotten together since I switched jobs. Originally we were just going to stay for happy hour because we had a 8:00 kickball game, but the game was cancelled due to rain on Tuesday so our happy hour turned into a happy night. Unfortunately I did not take out my camera until most of them had already left so I did not get a large group shot. Check out this b-day dessert....cotton candy with 5 icecream cones and candles!!!

27 and things are going great!

Packer Viking Game

On Sunday September 30th we had tickets for the Packers Vikings game at the Metro Dome downtown Minneapolis. Not only did Jon and I go to the game but our friends Rachel and Kevin came over for the game and brought along Kristin, Jason, and Chad as well.

Since space is limited we got up early Sunday morning to head downtown at 6:30 am to go tailgating pregame. The rain held off for most of the morning but sprinkled occasionally until the real down pour that started around 11:00.

There was quite a few people down and the lots tailgating and the overall mood was very upbeat as there was not any pregame hard feelings between Packers & Vikings fans. Everyone was just out to have a great time.

Our tickets for the game were about 4 rows from the top of the Metro dome but we actually had quite a great view since we were at about the 40 yard line. I was excited that my team won and especially excited that we were there to see Brett break the touch down record. Go Pack Go!
